Burial Ground

The inter-denominational Burial Ground is managed by the Parish Council and sits alongside the (now) closed Churchyard associated with All Saints Church. The Burial Ground has two separate areas one for burials and another for the interment of ashes. In order to preserve the appearance and rural character of the Burial Ground there are clear regulations concerning the appearance of graves and headstones. These Regulations also control who has rights to be buried or interred in the Burial Ground as space is quickly running out.

The Burial Ground is maintained to a high standard by the Parish Council’s own Groundsman, who will also advise Funeral Directors on the location and methods required for burials and interment of ashes. The Parish’s overall aim is to provide a restful and attractive space in which family and friends can remember those that have passed, whilst ensuring that the maintenance of that space is practical – hence the need to limit the size and additions of grave markers.
