Crondall wastewater improvement works – upcoming traffic management and road closures![]()
An update on the traffic management arrangements for Thames Water’s upcoming sewer lining works in Crondall. These works form part of their wider programme to improve the resilience of the local wastewater network and reduce groundwater entering the sewer system.![]()
A series of temporary traffic management measures will therefore be required from 19 October 2026. ![]()
Road closures will only be physically in place during the stated working hours; diversion signs may remain in position outside these hours but will be faced down overnight.![]()
The planned arrangements are as follows:![]()
* Redlands Lane – outside Laurel Cottage to outside Kadina: road closure from 19 to 21 October 2026, 8:00am–6:00pm.![]()
* Pankridge Street – outside Kenlea to Bennells: two-way temporary traffic signals from 22 to 24 October 2026, 8:00am–6:00pm. Excavation is required at this location.![]()
* Dippenhall Street – Pankridge Street junction to Glebe Road: road closure from 26 to 31 October 2026, 8:00am–6:00pm.![]()
* Church Street – The Borough junction to Croft Lane: road closure from 2 to 6 November 2026, 9:00am–3:00pm.![]()
The Borough – Church Street junction to Dippenhall Street: road closure on 7 November 2026, 8:00am–6:00pm.![]()
Pankridge Street – Lefroy’s Field to Handcroft Close: road closure from 11 to 21 January 2027, 8:00am–6:00pm.
While some of these arrangements will have a relatively localised impact, the closure of Dippenhall Street is expected to affect travel across the wider village. ![]()
Thames Water appreciate that these works may cause inconvenience and will work with their delivery partners to minimise disruption wherever possible.

As the discussion continues about the future plans for the golf course, parishioners may find it helpful to read the attached draft minutes from the September Parish Council meeting. Among other matters, the minutes include details of the recent presentation by Oak Rise Placemakers, which may be of interest to those following the proposals.![]()
I would, however, emphasise that these minutes are still in draft form and have not yet been formally agreed or approved by the Parish Council.![]()

Additionally, picking up from Cllr Dorn's update, at this stage the plans are very much in their infancy. Oak Rise Placemakers have confirmed their wish to engage fully with residents prior to any application.
