Open Spaces and Play Areas in Crondall

The Parish is lucky to have a wonderful estate which allows excellent recreational and leisure facilities for the parishioners of the village. It maintains three areas for public use.

Hook Meadow

Hook Meadow is an 8 acre field set in the heart of the village. It offers a first class area for exercise and sport and includes a tennis court and children’s play area both of which are maintained by the Parish Council. The children’s play area which has equipment for a wide range of ages and abilities and was refurbished and upgraded in 2015. See next page for more details. Also on Hook Meadow are the Cricket and Bowls Clubs. Both these clubs employ specialist grounds people to look after and maintain their facilities. They also jointly run and maintain the pavilion. The Crondall Village Hall, which abuts Hook Meadow, is run by a separate committee independent of the Parish Council.  The car park on Hook Meadow is the Village Hall car park and is not a Parish Council facility.

The Burial Ground

The Parish Council is responsible for the maintenance of the burial and cremation area to the east side of All Saints Church. The remainder of the churchyard is ‘closed’ and responsibility for its upkeep has been passed by the church to Hart District Council to whom any concerns should be addressed. Dogs must be kept on a lead in this area.

Farnham Road Recreation Ground (the Football Ground)

Located at the end of the village the Farnham Road Recreation Ground contains a full sized football pitch and a recently refurbished changing pavilion.  There is parking on site for ground users. This substantial  facility is popular with dog walkers and affords views over neighbouring farm lands.

Dogs

Dogs are most welcome on all the Council’s recreation areas when under control, but their poo is not! Please ensure that you – Glove, Grab and Gather! There are several free dog-poo bag dispensers in the Parish and also available from all Councillors, the Shop and Church Rooms. These can be placed (sealed) in any bin – thank you.
